This calculator provides a general estimate only and should not be relied upon as tax, legal, or financial advice. Federal withholding is figured using the IRS Publication 15-T (2026) annual percentage method with the withholding allowance amount ($4,300 per exemption) and the STANDARD withholding rate schedules, which corresponds to a Form W-4 from 2019 or earlier. Withholding under a 2020 or later Form W-4 (which uses dependent credits instead of exemptions) may differ. The calculation does not account for the Social Security wage base limit ($184,500 for 2026), Additional Medicare Tax on wages over $200,000, W-4 additional withholding amounts, state or local taxes, or other special circumstances. Whether a deduction is exempt from federal withholding or FICA depends on the type of plan; check with your employer or plan administrator.
